Pune: Family members of accident victim get justice in a year

PUNE: The family members of a government employee who died in a road mishap, has got the compensation in a year. A decision was taken after compromise in Lok Adalat to pay ₹86 lakh to the family members.

The deceased was identified as Vikram (name changed). Last year, he was going to Mumbai from Solapur by car. A truck rammed into his car at Indapur and Vikram was seriously injured in the mishap.

Vikram died while he was being taken to a hospital. Vikram’s wife and two children had filed a claim seeking compensation against the Go-Digit General Insurance Company at the Motor Accident Tribunal.

The claim had been filed through Ad GP Shinde. Vikram was 49 years old when he died and he was earning ₹60,000 per month. His wife, two children and mother were dependent on him. Hence, a claim seeking compensation of ₹1.25 crore had been filed.

However, a compromise was reached in the Lok Adalat on ₹86 lakh. Ad GP Shinde, Ad Sunil Dravid of the insurance company and officials of the insurance company Sukhprit Singh and Armita Singh played an important role in reaching the compromise.
