In response to a tragic accident involving a Porsche that resulted in the deaths of two IT engineers in Kalyani Nagar, the Pune Excise Department has implemented stringent measures to regulate alcohol consumption in the city.
Enforcement Drive Details
Following the incident, the Pune Excise Department has initiated a rigorous enforcement drive targeting establishments across Pune, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), and surrounding rural areas. As a result, 32 establishments have been sealed for non-compliance with the new regulations.

Drinking License Requirement

- Only individuals over the age of 25 are permitted to consume hard liquor.

Informational Boards:
- Establishments have placed boards outside their premises to inform patrons of the drinking age and license requirements.
Identification Bands:
- Drinkers will be given separate bands to easily identify them within the premises, ensuring that only licensed and eligible individuals consume alcohol.
