Pune Drug Case: Lalit Patil may be killed in an encounter, says Shiv Sena leader Sushma Andhare

Drug Mafia Lalit Patil

PUNE: Shiv Sena (Thackeray group) Deputy Leader Sushma Andhare has alleged that notorious drug smuggler Lalit Patil may be killed in an encounter. She also said that it is not possible to trust anyone in the present situation. Andhare also levelled serious allegations against Sassoon Hospital’ Dean Sanjeev Thakur.

Andhare said, “Since last one and a half month, we have been doing a follow-up of the Lalit Patil case. We want to save youths and their future. It is extremely worrying and shocking that drugs worth ₹2 crore were found at the Sassoon Hospital. Hence, some officials of Sassoon Hospital should be questioned.”

“What is most important is Sassoon Hospital’s Dean Sanjeev Thakur should be asked what exactly happened. When a prisoner is being sent to a hospital, then jail superintendent and concerned officials may be informing hospital officials. The information is given to dean and medical officials later. Hence, these officials must be questioned,” Andhare said.

Andhare said, “We had said earlier that the dean of Sassoon Hospital should be questioned and now, we have been proved right. Dr Sanjeev Thakur treated Lalit Patil in ward number 16. Lalit Patil may be killed in an encounter or he may be killed in suspicious circumstances. We cannot trust anything in the present situation. It will be a challenge to protect Lalit Patil.”
