Pune: Development in 11 villages included in PMC limits to be delayed again

Pune News

PUNE: The Administrator of the PMC, Vikram Kumar, has approved a proposal of giving extension to the deadline for publishing the development plan (DP) of 11 included villages in PMC limits. Accordingly, the deadline has been extended till March 1, 2024. The proposal cleared by Vikram Kumar has been sent to the state UDD. Hence, the development works in these villages will be delayed.

The PMC had sent a proposal to the state government seeking an extension of the deadline for publishing the DP. The state government extended the deadline till June 25, 203. Since the DP was not published during the period, an extension of the deadline till March 1, 2024 had been sought. A proposal was tabled in the city improvement committee. After the committee’s approval, the proposal had been sent to the civic chief and he has approved it.

On October 4, 2017, 11 villages were included in civic limits. The remaining are of Lohegaon and Mundhwa, Sadesatranali, Uttam Nagar, Shivne, Ambegaon Khurd, Undri, Dhayari, Ambegaon Budruk, Fursungi and Uruli Devachi were included in PMC limits. After almost a year, on December 4, 2018, the PMC had published the DP of these villages. The GB of the PMC had approved it on December 21, 2018. However, due to LS election in 2019, assembly election and the by-election in extended limits, there was a delay in publishing the DP. Since the coronavirus pandemic began in 2020, the work of preparing the DP came to a halt. After the pandemic subsided, the work of deciding the reservation, land use maps and the report was completed.

The regional plan is applicable to these villages. The uniform building control rules are being implemented in the state and since this is not happening in these villages, the development is badly affected. There are some limitations on carrying out construction using TDR. Since an extension in the deadline has been sought for publishing the DP, the development in these 11 villages will be delayed.
