Pune: Deceptive Partnership Scam at Hotel Aarambh! Man Was Cheated, Luring False Partnership in Business

Pune: Hadapsar police have registered a complaint against three individuals, including a woman, for allegedly deceiving a business partner and syphoning funds in the guise of a hotel partnership. The complainant, Tushar Rajaram Surve (33), filed the complaint on Wednesday, accusing Navin Prakash Alhat, Prakash Alhat, and Nita Prakash Alhat, all residents of Binawat Township, Sasanenagar, Hadapsar.

The incident unfolded between October 2021 and January 31, 2023, at the residence of the accused and Hotel Aarambh in Sasanenagar. According to the police, the accused collaborated with the plaintiff by holding important information regarding the ownership of Hotel Aarambh and its licencing, which were allegedly in the name of Nita Alhat.

The complainant was enticed into a fraudulent partnership by the accused, who posed as genuine partners in the hotel business. Tushar Surve alleged that he was coerced into investing Rs 12 lakh, equivalent to 25 percent of the gross profit of the hotel, under the false pretence of becoming a business partner. The accused went further to formalise the partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), supported by false information, and had it notarized by a lawyer known to them.

Upon the commencement of hotel operations, the accused shockingly informed the plaintiff that they were terminating the partnership due to potential negative feedback from guests. They additionally told Surve that they would refund the invested money to his account at a bank’s interest rate. However, to date, the accused have failed to pay any amount, leaving Tushar Surve in a financial lurch.
