Pune Crime Branch Takes Down Prostitution Racket Concealed Behind Ayurvedic Massage Façade

Pune: Yesterday, the social security department of the Pune Police Crime Branch busted a prostitution racket that was running under the disguise of an Ayurvedic massage centre. Police arrested the owner of this massage centre, who was charged with running this illegal prostitution racket by luring the helpless girls with the money.

Umesh Mallapa Taral, a resident of Balaji Housing Society, Pune, is the name of the prime accused, who was apprehended by the social security department. The social security department received a tip-off from sources about the on-going illegal prostitution at the Srishti Ayurvedic Massage Treatment Centre located on the second floor of the Granth Complex in Balaji Nagar.

The police confirmed the news by sending one of its officers into it, posing them as fake customers. After the confirmation of the news, Pune police subsequently raided the Ayurvedic Spa Centre and apprehended the main culprit, Umesh Taral, from the scene. In the further investigation, police learned that Taral brought these girls into this business by luring them with substantial money.

Police constable Ajay Narayan Rane of the social security department has filed a complaint against the accused at Sahkarnagar Police Station. Accordingly, police booked the accused under Sections 3, 4, 5, and IPC 370 of the Prevention of Immoral Traffic in Persons Act, 1956, and detained him. Police Inspector Sandeep Deshmane is conducting further investigation into the case.
