Pune Couple Launches Ātman Matrimonial to Facilitate Life Partnerships for Individuals with Medical Conditions

Pune, July 13: Aiming to address the challenges faced by individuals with medical conditions when it comes to finding life partners, a Pune-based couple has launched Ātman Matrimonial. The platform is dedicated to helping people suffering from conditions such as cancer, HIV, thalassemia, diabetes, and physical disabilities to connect with potential life partners. Supriya and Rahul Shinde, the founders of Ātman Matrimonial, made this announcement during a press conference held at CC & Co on Prabhat Road.

Rahul Shinde and his wife Supriya Shinde started Ātman Matrimonial after their own personal experience. Rahul was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML), a type of blood cancer, just 15 days after their marriage. Supriya, inspired by her own journey and interactions with other cancer patients and their families, realized the need to provide support and companionship to individuals facing similar medical conditions. She conducted extensive research and collaborated with specialists at the Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital and Research Center, leading to her counseling sessions.

Driven by the lack of platforms globally that cater specifically to people with medical conditions seeking life partners, Rahul and Supriya decided to create Ātman Matrimonial. Their belief in taking personal initiative rather than relying on others to address the issue fueled their determination to launch the platform. They also recognized the lack of awareness in society regarding the concept of health problems and the desire of individuals to pursue marriage even after surviving or being in remission from their medical conditions.

The process at Ātman Matrimonial begins with registration on the website, followed by counseling sessions for both individuals. The platform then facilitates the matchmaking process if there is a potential match. Once the couple expresses interest, meetings are arranged involving families. Lastly, a crucial step in the process is a doctor’s meeting, where the families meet the respective doctors of the individuals.

Ātman Matrimonial has already witnessed success stories, demonstrating the positive impact of the platform. One such story involves a 35-year-old cancer survivor and a 29-year-old individual in cancer remission who connected through counseling sessions and registered themselves on Ātman Matrimonial. Today, they have been happily married for five months.

The launch of Ātman Matrimonial fills a significant gap in society, providing individuals with medical conditions an avenue to find understanding and supportive life partners. It offers hope and empowers individuals to pursue fulfilling relationships regardless of their health challenges.
