Pune Construction Worker’s Tragic Demise Spurs Legal Action Against House Owner

A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Pune’s Malwadi area, where a construction laborer lost his life tragically after falling from the third floor of an under-construction building. The local police have swiftly taken action by booking the house owner for alleged negligence in providing necessary safety equipment to the workers engaged in the construction project.

The victim, identified as Balu Govind Mali, aged 44 and a resident of Warje Malwadi area, was diligently working on the third floor of the construction site when a fateful moment altered the course of events. Balu, while at work, unfortunately lost his balance and plummeted to the ground below. The incident unfolded at approximately 2 pm on September 14, sending shockwaves through the community. Promptly, Balu was rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, medical professionals declared him deceased.

In response to this tragic incident, a case has been registered against the house owner at the Warje Malwadi police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), specifically Sections 304 (a) and 34. These sections pertain to offenses involving culpable homicide not amounting to murder and acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention.
