Pune Congress Defies BJP Threats, Vows Success for ‘Nirbhay Bano’ Gathering

Pune Congress

The ‘Nirbhay Bano’ meeting scheduled for tomorrow faces a potential disruption, as Bharatiya Janata Party President, Dheeraj Ghate, has issued threats to interfere with the gathering. The event, attended by senior journalist Nikhil Wagle, has stirred controversy with Ghate submitting a letter to the Parvati police station under whose jurisdiction the meeting is organized.

Arvind Shinde, President of the Pune City District Congress Committee, responded to the threat in a press release, asserting the party’s commitment to democratic principles despite concerns about disruptions through “gangsterism and mob rule.” Shinde emphasized that such threats would not deter the defenders of democracy, ensuring the success of tomorrow’s gathering.

Shinde remarked, “The recent appointment of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar adds a new dynamic to the situation. With his commitment to maintaining law and order, including organizing a parade featuring gang members from local goons to Pune’s prominent gangsters, the responsibility for security arrangements for the ‘Nirbhay Bano’ meeting now lies with the Police Commissioner.”

He added, “Constituent parties of the India Aghadi and the Mahavikas Aghadi have united to safeguard democracy and ensure the successful conduct of the ‘Nirbhay Bano’ meeting.”

As the city braces for a potential clash of ideologies, the determination to uphold democratic values remains unshaken, with the Police Commissioner expected to play a crucial role in ensuring the security of the ‘Nirbhay Bano’ gathering.
