Pune Citizens Take the Lead in Road Safety Awareness Drive in Collaboration with Traffic Police

In an initiative to promote road safety awareness, citizens of Pune teamed up with the Pune Traffic Police for a ‘Road Safety Awareness’ Drive held at various companies in Pune on February 2, 2024. The drive was organized in conjunction with the ongoing National Road Safety Week 2024 (January 11 to February 15).

Aniket Bhilare, Member of Pune Platform for Collaborative Response (PPCR), shared that the PPCR and Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar (TSKN) orchestrated the awareness drive at Extentia Information Technology Pvt Ltd in Kalyani Nagar, Pune.

During the session, Police Sub Inspector (PSI) Ramchandra Raghatwan elucidated the significance of Road Safety Week, providing essential information about traffic rules. Devidas Patil presented statistical data on road/traffic accidents, while Police Sub Inspector (PSI) Aashish Jadhav shared personal experiences related to traffic accidents. The session concluded with a vote of thanks.

Earlier in January 2024, citizens from Pune had a meeting with the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shashikant Borate, at his office in Yerawada. The meeting aimed to discuss various issues concerning the citizens, focusing on traffic-related challenges in Pune.

Additionally, Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar (TSKN), a group of citizens from Kalyani Nagar, met Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashikant Borate to address various traffic-related concerns affecting not only Kalyani Nagar but also other areas of Pune city.
