Pune: Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Inaugurates Chhatrapati Tarabai Hostel in Shivajinagar, Applauds Punit Balan Group’s Efforts for Societal Progress (Video)

Pune : In a momentous event, Shrimant Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur inaugurated the Chhatrapati Tarabai Hostel in Shivajinagar, emphasising the immense potential of collaborative efforts in propelling society forward. Addressing the gathering, he asserted that unity across diverse backgrounds could pave the way for collective growth, urging individuals from backward classes to step forward and work together.

Acknowledging the crucial role of philanthropists and young entrepreneurs, Shahu Maharaj highlighted the significance of figures like Punit Balan, Chairman of the Punit Balan Group, in realising this vision. He underscored the need for the cooperation of such philanthropists to harness the latent potential within society.

The cornerstone of the hostel, situated in Shivajinagar, was unveiled on Thursday by Shrimant Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj on the birth anniversary of Rajmata Jijau. The event saw the presence of notable personalities, including Punit Balan, Manikchand Oxyrich, RMD Foundation President Janhavi Dhariwal-Balan, former MLA Ulhas Pawar, City President of Congress Arvind Shinde, City President of NCP Prashant Jagtap, City Chief of Shiv Sena Thackeray Group Sanjay More, Pramila Gaikwad, Vice President of the organisation Rajendra Jagtap, Honorary Secretary Anna Thorat, Joint Secretary Vikas Gogawle, Treasurer Jagdish Jedhe, Satyendra Kanchan, Vilas Gavane, along with other dignitaries.

Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj emphasised the pivotal role of education in societal development, urging a serious commitment from both social and academic communities. He expressed the need for concerted efforts to elevate educational institutions in the state to international standards.

Young entrepreneur Punit Balan, known for his philanthropic initiatives, commended the decision to name the hostel buildings after Rasiklal Manikchand Dhariwal and Indrani Balan. He affirmed the commitment of the Punit Balan Group to supporting those in need and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the Chhatrapati Tarabai Hostel.

The event was moderated by Amit Gogawle, while Anna Thorat introduced the distinguished guests.
