Pune July 21 ( UNI) Central Railway’s Railway Protection Force (RPF) has rescued 408 children from station platforms between April and June this year.
The rescue work was done under “Operation Nanhe Farishte” in coordination with Govt. Railway police and other frontline railway staff, a media release said on Friday.
The rescued children include 318 boys and 90 girls, who were reunited with their parents with the help of NGOs like Childline.
The children who come to the railway station without informing their families, due to some fight or some family issues or in search of better life or glamour of the city, are found by trained RPF personnel, said the release issued by Chief PRO of Central Railway here.
The trained RPF personnel connect with the children, understand their problems and counsel them to reunite with their parents. Many of the parents expressed their deep gratitude and thankfulness for the noble service rendered by the Railways.
