Porsche Car Accident Pune

Pune: The Bombay High Court (HC) has granted bail to the child in conflict with law (CCL) in the hit-and-run case in Kalyani Nagar. The court observed that it is illegal to keep a minor in custody.

Providing relief to the CCL, the HC bench, comprising Justice Bharati Dangre and Justice Manjusha Deshpande, said, “It was an unfortunate accident but the minor cannot be kept in the observation home. His parents, grandfather are lodged in jail. Hence, his custody will be given to his aunt.”

However, the conditions spelled out by the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) have been retained by the HC.

Learning traffic rules a must

According to the directions issued by the HC, the CCL has to study traffic rules within 15 days after his release. It is expected that he should realise the importance of traffic safety by following rules. He will become a responsible citizen in the future after realising the consequences of his action.

Writing a 300-word essay

According to a JJB condition, the CCL will have to write a 300-word essay. The essay should explain the importance and compliance with traffic rules. The minor will understand the serious consequences of his action through the essay writing.

HC upholds decisions of the JJB

The Bombay High Court has given its consent to the terms and conditions set by the JJB. It is mandatory for the CCL to follow them. The HC has given the minor a chance to reform.

The HC decision has given an opportunity to the CCL to begin his life anew. But he can only reform by following the conditions. This decision has underlined the importance of adhering to traffic rules.
