Pune Cantonment Board Issues Warning Against Unauthorized Sale/Purchase of Old Grant and Lease Properties

Camp, Maharashtra: Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) has issued a public notice, cautioning against the unauthorized sale and purchase of lease and old grant properties on Class B-3 land within Pune Cantonment. The board has identified instances where individuals have transferred and sold properties without the necessary approvals from the competent authority or the Government of India.

In a stern warning, the notice emphasizes that any sale of lease or old grant properties on Defence land within Pune Cantonment must adhere to proper notice and approval procedures. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pune Cantonment Board, Subrat Pal, has urged the public to report such cases promptly and to refrain from engaging in unauthorized sale transactions concerning properties on B-3 land held on leasehold terms without prior sanction.

The notice aims to uphold legal procedures and safeguard the integrity of property transactions within Pune Cantonment. Individuals and builders are reminded to follow guidelines set by the competent authority and seek proper approvals before engaging in any sale or purchase of properties in the specified area.

For reporting unauthorized transactions or raising concerns, citizens are encouraged to contact the Chief Executive Officer, Pune Cantonment Board. The board is committed to ensuring that all property transactions comply with necessary approvals, protecting community interests and maintaining the integrity of the Pune Cantonment area.

On January 1, 2024, Pal wrote to the Inspector General of Registration, Government of Maharashtra, alerting them to unauthorized sales of Old Grant/Leased properties within Cantonment. He requested that registrars and sub-registrars be informed that no such sale in the civil area of Pune Cantonment should be registered without approval, and any such cases should be immediately reported to the Chief Executive Officer.
