Pune: Business Fraud! Woman Alleges Threats and Forgery in Rs 31 Lakh Business Deal

Pune Crime News

Pune: A 26-year-old woman residing in Chavannagar on Pune-Satara Road registered a complaint against two people yesterday for allegedly duping and threatening to kill her family members if she demanded her money back. Sahkarnagar police registered a complaint against the accused under appropriate sections and issued a lookout notice against them.

The accused couple are identified as Kapil Ramesh Dhole Patil and Shivani Kapil Dhole Patil. The accused, Shivani Dhole Patil, and the plaintiff are known to each other. The plaintiff informed that the accused initiated a proposal to open a new hotel in Pune, for which she took approximately Rs 31 lakh from the plaintiff from time to time through RTGS and checks.

However, soon after, as the plaintiff became pregnant, she was not able to pay attention to the business. Taking undue advantage of it, the accused, along with her husband, made a fake partnership deed and forged the signatures of the plaintiff on it. In fact, the plaintiff did not sign the partnership deed.

After learning about this, the plaintiff confronted the accused and demanded her money back. However, the accused abused the plaintiff, abusing and threatening to kill her family members if she continued demanding money. After learning that the accused defrauded her of Rs 31 lakh, the plaintiff filed a police complaint against the Sahakarnagar Police Station.

Based on the complaint and submitted proofs, the police booked both the accused under IPC 465, 467, 468, 471, 420, 504, 506, and 34. Further investigation is ongoing.
