Pune: Birthdays should be celebrated by organising social welfare programmes, says Deputy CM Fadnavis

Devendra Fadnavis-Murlidhar Mohol

PUNE: Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis greeted BJP regional General Secretary and former mayor Murlidhar Mohol on his birthday and praised his initiative of organising a blood donation camp on the occasion. Fadnavis said that organising social welfare programmes on birthdays is very important. In all, 8,197 blood bags were collected and this was the fourth year of the blood donation initiative.

Fadnavis visited the blood donation camp organised by the Sanskruti Pratishthan. He also spoke with some blood donors. Fadnavis said, “Blood is very important to save life. Many times, we face shortage of blood and we have to find donors. Hence, the camp is very important. It is necessary to organise such camps for making blood available for needy patients.”

Mohol said, “Birthdays should be celebrated by conducting social welfare programmes. I got inspiration from Fadnavis. The blood donation camp was started during the COVID epidemic and now, it is becoming a people’s movement. This is truly encouraging. I appeal to those who work in social and political life that more such camps should be organised considering the shortage of blood in Pune city.”
