Pune: Bibvewadi police crack murder case; Man killed because asked for snacks while consuming alcohol

PUNE: The police have cracked the murder which had taken place in Sargam chawl area in Bibvewadi area. Two men killed another man because he asked for snacks while consuming alcohol. The Bibvewadi police have arrested two persons and the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

The accused have been identified as Ketan Sham Temkar (19) and Omkar Laxman Sanas (22), both residents of Bibvewadi. The body of an unidentified person had been found in the open area of Sargam chawl in Bibvewadi area. The unidentified person had been killed by smashing his head with a stone. The identity of the deceased is not known. The Bibvewadi police were probing the case. API Praveen Kalukhe and PSI Sanjay Adling were patrolling in the area when they were told by an informer that a man had been killed by smashing his head by Temkar and Sanas.

A team of police officials arrested Temkar and Sanas. During questioning, they admitted killing a man by smashing his head with a stone in the Sargam chawl area. While they were consuming alcohol, an unidentified person had asked them to give snacks. Since they did not give the snacks, there was an argument. Both of them assaulted the man and smashed his head with a stone, they told the police.

CP Ritesh Kumar, Jt CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCP Vikrant Deshmukh, ACP Shahuraje Salve guided Sr PI Savita Dhamdhere, PI Sanjay Patange, API Praveen Kalukhe, PSI Sanjay Adling, Shailesh Alate, Santosh Jadhav, Satish More, Shivaji Yevle and Tanaji Sagar in taking the action.
