Pune: Authorities Swiftly Respond to Overturned BPCL Gas Tanker on Pavnar Bridge

Pune, 25th June 2023: A gas tanker belonging to Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) met with an unfortunate accident early this morning while traveling from Mumbai to Pune. The incident occurred at the beginning of the Pavnar Bridge at approximately 3:30 AM when the tanker overturned, posing a potentially hazardous situation. However, thanks to the rapid response of the authorities, the situation was quickly brought under control.

The Fire Department of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation was the first to respond to the incident. A team of four fire units, led by Chief Fire Officer Vijay Thorat, Fire Officer Chipade, and Disaster Management Chief Omprakash Bahival, promptly arrived at the scene. Their immediate presence helped prevent any escalation of the danger posed by the overturned gas tanker.

In addition to the fire department, local law enforcement agencies were also present to ensure the safety and security of the area. Deputy Commissioner Vivek Patil, Assistant Police Commissioner Balasaheb Kopnar, Deputy Commissioner Ravikiran Ghodke, and Senior Police Inspector Ranganath Unde were among the police officials who swiftly arrived at the scene. They were accompanied by 50 other police personnel who assisted in managing the situation.
