Pune: The 25-year-old son attacked a doctor at the YCM Hospital of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation after his father died during medical treatment. In this regard, the victim, Dr. Rishikesh Hanmant Kudale, filed a complaint against a young man identified as Mahesh Kumbhar at Pimpri police station.
The accused, Mahesh Kumbhar (age 25), is originally a resident of Dharashiv district. According to the information, for the past few days, he has shifted his father to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital for treatment. Accordingly, his father, Rajaram Kumbhar, was receiving treatment at ICU ward no. 3 of YCM Hospital.
On Sunday afternoon, the father of the accused passed away while receiving treatment. Accordingly, when Mahesh was informed about his father’s demise, he, bereaved by his father’s sudden demise, resorted to assaulting the doctor for holding him responsible for this incident. He assaulted the doctor, Kudale, before being taken aside by other medical staff.
In this regard, Dr. Kudale filed a complaint against the accused at Pimpri Police Station. Police registered the accused under IPC 353, 332, and 504 under Sections 3 and 4 of the Maharashtra Medical Service Persons and Medical Service Institutions Act, 2010. Pimpri Police is conducting further investigations into it.
