Pune: Aspirant Caught with Electronic Device and Mobile Phone During BRO Recruitment Exam

Pune, 1st July 2023: A recruitment exam conducted by the Border Road Organisation (BRO) took an unexpected turn when an aspirant was apprehended for engaging in fraudulent activities. The accused, identified as Deepchand Karambir, a 25-year-old resident of Hisar district in Haryana, was caught with an electronic device and a mobile phone while attempting to copy during the exam.

The BRO had organized the exam for the post of Vehicle Mechanic at the BRO School in Dhanori on June 30, with the designated time slot from 8 am to 11 am. The vigilant BRO officials discovered that the accused had concealed an electronic device within his pen, and his mobile phone was hidden in his underwear. It was evident that he intended to utilize the electronic device to cheat during the exam, as stated by the police.

Subsequently, an assistant admin officer of the BRO filed a complaint with the police, leading to the registration of a case at the Vishrantwadi police station. The accused has been charged under sections 420 and 511 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), pertaining to cheating and attempting to commit an offense, respectively. The police are actively investigating the matter to gather more evidence and ascertain the full extent of the fraudulent activities.
