Pune: Application of former BJP corporator Uday Joshi and his son seeking anticipatory bail rejected; ₹5 crore cheating case

PUNE: Nine people have lodged complaints with the Economic Offences Wing (EoW) of the Pune police after being cheated by former BJP corporator Uday Joshi and his son by promising more returns than the bank if they invested money in a gas agency. An appeal has been made that investors who have been cheated, should lodge their complaints with the EoW.

The Vishrambaug police have registered an FIR against former BJP corporator Uday Joshi and his son Mayuresh for cheating investors of ₹5.53 crore. Contractor Mangesh Khare had lodged a complaint. Meanwhile, Joshi had applied for anticipatory bail but Addl Sessions Judge KP Nandedkar rejected his application.

So far, nine people have lodged complaints with the EoW after being cheated. The police said that Joshi gave fake certificates promising 12 per cent annual interest without having RBI’s permission and cheated many people. An appeal has been issued that investors having complaints against the accused should lodge complaints with PI Gurudatt More of EoW (Mobile number: 7350087266) by submitting relevant documents.
