Pune Anti-Narcotics Cell Detained African Nation For Illegal Drugs Selling in Kondhwa

Pune: The Anti-Narcotics Cell-Two of the Pune Police Crime Branch apprehended an African national for illicitly selling narcotics in Pune. Police seized banned mephedrone and methaqualone drugs from him, along with other drugs worth approximately 4 lakh and 60 thousand rupees. This action was taken yesterday on the public road in front of the Shobha Carnation Society in Kondhwa.

The arrested accused has been identified as Kombo Carmelo Mayele. The 27-year-old arrested accused is originally a citizen of Angola and is currently residing at Flat No. 202, Ganaraj Society, Jadhav Nagar, Handewadi.

As per the information, yesterday, the police officers and officials of Anti-Narcotics Cell-Two were patrolling in Kondhwa Police Station limits. At that time, the police officer, Yogesh Mandhare, received a tip-off regarding the illegal sale of narcotics in the area.

Accordingly, the team laid a trap in the area and detained the African youth red-handed. Police seized 12.835 grams of methaqualone worth Rs 2 lakh 58 thousand and 7.75 grams of mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 1 lakh 42 thousand, along with a Honda Activa moped worth Rs 50 thousand, totalling valuables of Rs 4 lakh and 60 thousand from him.

Police registered a case under Section 8(c) and 22(b)(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against the accused at Kondhwa police station.

This action was done by the team of Senior Police Inspector Sunil Thopte, Police Sub Inspectors Digambar Chavan, Yogesh Mandhare, Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Shivaji Ghule, Police Constable Chetan Gaikwad, Sandeep Jadhav, Ravindra Rokade, Prashant Bomdandi, Mayur Suryavanshi, Sahil Syed, Azim Sheikh, Sandeep Shelke, Nitin Jagdale, Yuvraj Kamble, Dinesh Bastewad, and Female Police Constable Disha Khewalkar, under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ritesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police Crime Ramnath Pokle, DCP Amol Zende, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime-2 Satish Govekar.
