Pune Airport Prepares for Busy Summer Season with Additional Flights and Enhanced Connectivity

Anticipation Builds as New Routes and Increased Operations Set to Enrich Travel Options

Pune Airport is gearing up for a bustling summer season with preparations underway to accommodate increased flight movements and introduce new connections. An official at the airport expressed optimism about the upcoming developments, anticipating a surge in activity with the introduction of additional flights.

According to the official, the summer flight schedule, slated from March 31 to October 26, will witness the launch of two new flights to Kolkata and Jaipur, commencing operations from March 31. These flights are scheduled to operate six days a week, offering passengers enhanced connectivity options and facilitating smoother travel experiences.

As the season progresses, Pune Airport aims to further expand its flight network, with plans underway to introduce additional flights to destinations like Kolkata and Vadodara. Moreover, both domestic and international travelers can expect increased connections, including an additional route to Dubai, enhancing accessibility and convenience for passengers.

Efforts to bolster connectivity have been ongoing, with the airport actively engaging airlines to optimize available slots and enhance service offerings. The imminent inauguration of the new terminal by April 15 promises to elevate the travel experience for passengers, featuring upgraded facilities and ample space to accommodate the growing influx of travelers.

While Pune Airport currently operates approximately 90 out of the approved 109 arrivals and departures, challenges persist, particularly with the prevalence of late-night “red-eye” flights leading to congestion and logistical hurdles.

Addressing these concerns, officials emphasized the importance of managing red-eye flights effectively, especially within the new terminal, to mitigate operational disruptions and ensure a seamless passenger experience for all travelers.
