Pune: 13 Tree Fall Incidents Reported in City Due to Heavy Rainfall

The city of Pune experienced heavy rainfall and strong winds in various areas on a recent Saturday morning. This adverse weather condition resulted in waterlogging and multiple incidents of trees falling in different locations. Fortunately, the prompt response from the Pune Municipal Corporation’s fire brigade team ensured that no injuries were reported in these incidents. A total of 13 tree fall cases were addressed since the morning.

According to fire brigade officials, the incidents of trees falling were reported in several areas across the city, including:

  1. Near VIT College in Bibwewadi
  2. Janseva Society in Kale Padal
  3. Nagarwala School in Kalyaninagar
  4. Samvidhan Chowk in Wanawadi
  5. Near Maruti Temple in Mohammadwadi
  6. Sasane Nagar area in Hadapsar
  7. Shivaji Stadium in Mangalwar Peth
  8. Near Ganesh Peth Police Chowky
  9. Kharadi
  10. Karvenagar
  11. Vimannagar
  12. Ghorpadi Gaon
  13. Nana Peth and Parvati area

The city had been experiencing a prolonged dry spell before the recent heavy rainfall. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Chinchwad recorded 83.5 mm of rainfall, Magarpatta received 54 mm, and Lohegaon reported 31.8 mm of rain. In light of the changing weather conditions, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for Pune for the following day, urging residents to stay prepared.
