Promoting Peaceful Celebrations: Kondhwa Police Host Pre-Ramadan Meeting to Address Concerns

In preparation for the upcoming Ramadan Eid festival, Kondhwa Police organized a meeting on March 7 at Kondhwa Khurd in Kondhwa Police Station, addressing various concerns related to the festival, traffic issues, and other community matters. The event, held under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil, saw the participation of senior officers, community leaders, and representatives from civic departments.

Santosh Sonawane, Senior Police Inspector at Kondhwa Police Station, shared that the meeting was attended by key figures, including Deputy Commissioner of Police R Raja Ingle and Assistant Commissioner of Police Wanowrie Division. Representatives from the Minorities Committee, Peace Committee, Maharashtra Action Committee, political leaders, and Masjid trustees, along with officials from Pune Municipal Corporation and various departments, actively participated in the discussions.

The key outcomes of the meeting included guidelines to ensure a smooth celebration:

  1. Regulated Food Stalls: Stalls for Ramadan Eid festivities must obtain permission from the Municipal Corporation, Traffic Department, and relevant authorities.
  2. Traffic Flow: Stalls should be set up in a manner that does not obstruct traffic. Strict vigilance on parking arrangements for these stalls was emphasized.
  3. Parking Management: Adequate parking arrangements should be made during Namaz, with volunteers from the Masjid Committee overseeing this responsibility.
  4. Religious Harmony: Participants were urged not to display banners that could incite religious tension. In case of sensitive situations, immediate reporting to Kondhwa Police Station or dialing 112 for assistance was encouraged.

The collaborative efforts between the police, community leaders, and civic authorities aim to foster a sense of unity, address concerns, and ensure a peaceful celebration of Ramadan Eid in Kondhwa.
