Pritha Shines: Triumphs in Late Pappu Haldankar Memorial Pune District Table Tennis Championship 2023

In a thrilling showcase of skill and determination, top-seeded Pritha Vartikar emerged victorious at the Late Pappu Haldankar Memorial Pune District Table Tennis Championship 2023, hosted under the auspices of the Pune District Table Tennis Association at Deccan Gymkhana’s Table Tennis Hall. Pritha secured the women’s title with a commanding 11-6, 11-9, 11-7, 11-5 win over second-seeded Swapnali Narle in an exhilarating final.

The tournament saw intense competition, with rising talent and seasoned players showcasing their prowess on the table. In the Boys under 17 semifinals, third-seeded Shouren Soman made a notable upset by defeating second-seeded Pranav Gholkar with a scoreline of 11/5, 11/8, 8/11, 12/10. Shouren’s impressive performance secured his spot in the finals, where he is set to face top seed Neil Mulye.

The championship was inaugurated by distinguished personalities, including Mr. S. Ramaswamy, Former International Table Tennis Player – India No 3, Mrs. Smita Bodas – Vice President PDTTA, Mr. Deepak Haldankar, Former international table tennis player and organizing committee head, Mr. Dipesh Abhyankar, Mr. Avinash Joshi, and Mr. Ashwin Haldankar.
