In the early hours of July 18, 2023, a patrolling team from the Kothrud police station, consisting of PC Pradeep Chavan and PC Amol Nazan, successfully apprehended three individuals suspected of bike theft. The incident took place at 2:45 am when the officers encountered the suspects during their routine patrol.
As the police team proceeded with a house search, the suspects attempted to flee. However, due to the quick response and coordinated efforts of the officers, two of the suspects were successfully captured, while one managed to escape.
During the subsequent house search, the police discovered significant evidence. Among the seized items were one live round of ammunition, four mobile phones, and a laptop. These findings raised the intensity of the investigation, revealing more about the nature of the suspects’ activities.
Upon further investigation, it was uncovered that the two apprehended suspects, namely Imran Khan and Md. Yunus Saki, were wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The NIA has issued a reward of 5 lakhs for information leading to their arrest. This revelation adds a new dimension to the case, indicating the involvement of the suspects in more significant criminal activities.
The authorities, led by CP Pune, Reetesh Kumar, are actively pursuing the investigation. They aim to gather additional evidence, identify any potential accomplices, and ascertain the full extent of the suspects’ criminal network.
