In a remarkable turn of events, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) introduced a cashless payment facility that has been met with immense enthusiasm from passengers. Launched on October 1, 2023, this innovative approach to ticketing has not only streamlined the travel experience but has also witnessed an impressive response from commuters.

PMPML’s Cashless Triumph: By the Numbers:

In just the initial fifteen days since its launch, the PMPML’s cashless payment system has made a significant impact. The numbers speak volumes about its success. To date, the PMPML has raked in a total income of Rs. 12,55,026/- through this cashless payment system. A notable 46,922 tickets have been sold through this method, attracting a staggering 57,715 passengers to embrace this modern, hassle-free mode of payment.

Let’s take a closer look at the growth of this cashless system over the first 15 days:

  • October 1, 2023: Rs. 45,281/- in UPI cash, 1,670 UPI ticket sales, and 2,200 passengers.
  • October 15, 2023: A significant leap to Rs. 1,56,943/- in UPI cash, 5,378 UPI ticket sales, and a remarkable 7,376 passengers.
