PMPML Passengers Face UPI Payment Glitches: Pune Commuters Frustrated by Ongoing Server Issues

In recent weeks, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) bus passengers have found themselves in a quandary as the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) encountered issues, preventing many from making UPI payments for their tickets while aboard the bus. While PMPML officials assure that the problem has been addressed, passengers faced inconveniences over the weekend.

Satish Gate, PRO at PMPML, acknowledged the transient disruption, stating, “For 2 to 3 days, the server of the UPI payments gateway was down. However, the issue has been resolved now. Hence, it is strongly recommended for passengers to effectively use UPI QR codes inside the buses to make bus ticket payments.”

PMPML had introduced UPI payments for city buses to streamline transactions and reduce the need for passengers to carry exact change. Initially well-received, the system has recently presented challenges for commuters.

Passengers report difficulties in obtaining QR codes for their tickets, even when requested. In some cases, bus conductors are compelled to request cash payments from passengers due to issues with the UPI system. These challenges have resulted in discomfort for passengers and occasional disputes with conductors.

Despite the intermittent issues, PMPML encourages passengers to embrace the convenience of UPI payments and utilize QR codes within the buses for seamless transactions.
