PMPML: Approval for payment gateway awaited; Passengers will get live location of buses; Tickets can be booked through app

PUNE: PMPML has been trying to develop an app for a long time. Finally, its efforts have borne fruits. Passengers would soon be able to book a ticket on the mobile and would come to know the live location of the bus. A trial of the app would be held next week. A proposal has been sent to the Central Bank of India for payment gateway. After this proposal is accepted, passengers would be able to buy online tickets.
PMPML’s digital journey has started and the QR code service was inaugurated last month. Hence, passengers would be able to buy tickets by using the QR code.

Passengers were demanding for many days that the facility of booking tickets by using the mobile app should be made available. Efforts were made many times but they were not successful. Now, the work of the app has been completed. Necessary trials have been held. After the approval of the bank has been received for payment gateway, passengers would be able to buy tickets on the mobile. The app would help passengers to get the live location of the buses and save their time.

Nitin Narvekar, Joint MD of PMPML said, “The work of PMPML’s app has been completed. Passengers would be able to buy tickets through the app after the approval of Central Bank of India is received for the payment gateway proposal. They will be able to take advantage of other facilities.”

Live location of bus

The work of mapping of bus routes and bus stops has been completed as per Google’ s instructions to help understand the live location of PMPML’s buses. A special team of the transport department of PMPML collected the data for the last six months. The work of finalising the latitude and longitude has been completed by a private institute. The mapping of 1,500 bus stops and 580 routes has been completed. After the app starts, passengers would get information about buses on their routes.
