PMC: PT-3 application submission deadline for the 23 merged villages is January 31

Pune News

Pune: Property tax is levied on properties in the 23 villages merged in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in 2021. The 40-pc concession for residential properties is also applicable to them. The PT-3 application to avail the rebate can be submitted by eligible property owners from these villages before January 31, 2024.

Properties are being registered in the merged villages. Almost 80 pc of the work has been completed. The number of properties are higher in urbanised areas such as Manjari, Wagholi, Sus-Mahalunge and Bavdhan. Therefore, it is taking time to register properties in these areas. Tax is being applied on the basis of the records held by the gram panchayats. A hearing is held by searching every registered property and pasting a notice on them. Then the tax is recovered. Registration work is 90 pc over in the villages, where there is a less number of properties. 50 per cent work is over in the villages, where there is a huge number of properties. This was revealed by Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr Kunal Khemnar.

Deadline January 31 for 23 merged villages

Property tax will be levied on properties in the 23 merged villages in a phase-wise manner. The 40-pc concession is applicable to eligible residential properties. Such property owners have been appealed to submit the PT-3 application. Many property owners are not aware about the concession. Considering a delay in preparing and distributing property bills in these villages, the PMC has set the deadline for the submission of the PT-3 form till January 31, 2024.

Deadline is November 30 for other areas

Barring the 23 merged villages, property owners in other areas have to submit the PT-3 application till November 30. The earlier deadline was November 15.

Residential properties: 1,82,164

Non-residential properties: 14,351
