Pune Municipal Corporation

In response to a recent tragic accident involving a dumper at Gangadham Chowk, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has unveiled plans to widen key arterial roads in the area, aiming to enhance safety and ease congestion.

Safety Measures Implemented

Following the unfortunate incident, which resulted in a woman pillion rider being struck by a dumper, PMC Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale swiftly initiated measures to address safety concerns in the vicinity. A crucial aspect of this response is the decision to widen certain roads to accommodate increased traffic flow and improve overall road safety standards.

Widening Project Details

Bhosale’s directive includes widening the road from Gangadham Chowk to Shatrunjay Temple, effectively doubling its width from the existing 6 meters to a more spacious 12-meter lane. This strategic expansion is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and create a safer environment for commuters navigating through this bustling area.
