Pimpri: Paperless work at PCMC, 35 departments to go online

Pimpri: The civic administration is taking steps to make the civic body’s work paperless. Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh unveiled the ‘GSI-enabled ERP’ system on Friday.

Thus, 35 departments of the PCMC will function online. All departments will be interconnected. This will not only save time and energy of civic officials and staff but will also bring transparency in their work.

Marriage registration certificates from the ward offices, bookings of the theatres, libraries, dog licences at the veterinary department, RTI applications, etc, will now be available online. As many as nine departments have already become paperless. The remaining departments will also be functioning online henceforth.

The GSI-enabled ERP system will connect online citizen centres, security, libraries, ward offices, medical department, stores department, etc. Civic officials and employees will be able to access all details online. Paperless working will be easier. Documents and work files can be seen online. All paperless folders or files can be approved online.

Citizens will be able to get marriage certificates from the comfort of their homes. The ward office will reserve a slot for such couples after they upload all documents. Instructions will be issued through messages, emails about the appointment, photos and taking of thumb impressions online. Documents will be verified online. Correction in certificates and registration of marriage bureaus will also be done. Vaccination registration, dog-cat licences, renewal of licences, permissions for dead animal incineration and adopting of pets will be done easily now.

Municipal commissioner Shekhar Singh said, “We have activated the GSI-enabled ERP for bringing efficiency in the administration and providing online services easily. The system will start functioning for transparency and citizens’ participation. Making decisions will become easier for officials and employees. Official work will be expedited.”
