Pimpri-Chinchwad’s First Dog Park Introduces Entry Charges, Awaits Approval

Pimple Saudagar, Pimpri-Chinchwad: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has recently unveiled a dedicated dog park near Govind Chowk in Pimple Saudagar, designed exclusively for pet dogs. However, pet enthusiasts are likely to face an entry fee soon, with the PCMC proposing a charge of Rs 20 for one person and one dog during morning and evening sessions.

Deputy Commissioner of the PCMC Veterinary Department, Sandip Khot, revealed that the fee structure is under consideration, pending approval, and contingent upon a comprehensive assessment of the park’s usage since its inauguration approximately two months ago in February 2024.

Spanning an impressive 65 Gunthas, the park offers an array of amenities, including footpaths, a stage area, three pits, restroom facilities, water points, and a surrounding boundary wall. Additional features include separate entrances, an electricity system, lush greenery, and a distinctive ‘Celebration Point’ where dog owners can commemorate their pets’ birthdays.

Operating from 6 am to 10 am and 5 pm to 9 pm, the park aims to provide a secure and enjoyable space for dogs to engage in physical activity while fostering a sense of community among pet owners. This initiative underscores PCMC’s commitment to meeting the needs of the pet-loving community, promoting responsible pet ownership, and creating a healthy environment for both pets and their owners.
