Passenger Grievances Surge at Pune Airport: Damaged Luggage and Staff Conduct Under Scrutiny

Pune, 19th January 2024: A distressing incident at Pune Airport has brought passenger grievances to the forefront as Manish Mohan, a traveler on Air India flight AI851 from Delhi to Pune, discovered his luggage in a damaged state upon arrival. Expressing his frustration on social media, Manish highlighted the issue and also alleged inappropriate conduct by an on-duty staff member.

Passenger’s Complaint:

In a tweet directed at Air India, Manish shared his ordeal, stating, “Air India, I have traveled from Delhi to Pune, and at Pune airport, I found my luggage in a damaged condition. Please help.” In a subsequent tweet, he raised concerns about Prashant Gaikwad, an on-duty staff member, alleging that Gaikwad appeared to be intoxicated. Manish also claimed that the Manager on duty, Ashish, was unresponsive to his concerns, leaving him without a resolution for an hour.

Airline Response:

Acknowledging the passenger’s tweets, the airline responded, assuring Manish that the issue would be addressed promptly. However, this incident is not an isolated one, as several passengers across different flights have reported similar problems at the airport over the past three weeks.

Growing Concerns:

The increasing frequency of such issues has raised concerns about the overall passenger experience and service standards at Pune Airport. Passengers expect a smooth and hassle-free travel experience, and incidents like damaged luggage and alleged staff misconduct can significantly impact their perception of the airport’s services.

As passengers’ voices continue to be heard on social media, it remains to be seen how Pune Airport authorities and airlines address and rectify these concerns to ensure a positive and satisfactory experience for all travelers.
