Neil Mulye, a table tennis prodigy from Pune, etched his name in the annals of the sport by clinching a remarkable triple crown at the Late Pappu Haldankar Memorial Pune District Table Tennis Championship 2023. Mulye’s stellar performance saw him emerge victorious in the Men’s Singles, Doubles, and the Under 17 categories, showcasing exceptional skill and determination.

In a thrilling Men’s Singles final, Mulye, seeded fifth, orchestrated a comeback from a 0-2 games deficit to triumph over Shounak Shinde with a scoreline of 11/6, 4/11, 12/14, 11/6, 11/4, 15/13. The young player’s resilience and strategic play proved instrumental in securing the coveted title.

Mulye continued his winning streak in the Men’s Doubles category, teaming up with his father and coach, Upendra Mulye. Together, they secured an impressive 8/11, 11/7, 15/13, 11/1 victory over the formidable duo of Shounak Shinde and Shriyash Bhosale.

The triple crown feat was completed in the Mix Under 17 category, where Neil Mulye faced Shouren Soman in a closely contested final. Mulye emerged victorious with a score of 10/12, 11/5, 11/3, 12/10, showcasing his dominance across multiple age groups.

The awards ceremony, held in the presence of dignitaries including Mr. Rajeev Bodas (President of PDTTA), Mrs. Smita Bodas (Vice President of PDTTA), Mr. Ajit Galwankar (President Ratanagiri District), Mr. Deepak Haldankar (Tournament Organizing Director), Mr. Dipesh Abhyankar, Mr. Avinash Joshi, and Mr. Ashwin Haldankar, celebrated Neil Mulye’s exceptional achievements.
