Pune, Maharashtra – The National Defence Academy (NDA) Marathon, organized to commemorate the institution’s 75th anniversary, recently witnessed an outstanding display of athletic prowess. The event featured multiple race categories, including a 42 km full marathon, a 21 km half-marathon, a 10 km run, a 5 km run, and a 3 km run, all taking place simultaneously. The mega marathon, arranged by the blueBrigade Sports Foundation and presented by Ved Nirmitee Realty, unfolded over a weekend, attracting over 13,500 participants, including 1300 cadets from the NDA.
Triumph of Champions
Anjani Pandey, Ashwini Deore, Nishu Kumar, and Krishna Sirothia emerged victorious in the 42 km full marathon, each securing their respective age groups. They showcased their incredible stamina and determination on the track.
In the 21 km races, Vedanshi Joshi, Anubhuti Chaturvedi, Parasaran Halijol, and Sanjay Negi displayed their running skills, winning their respective events and earning the applause of spectators.
Praidhi Budhwar, with a remarkable performance, clinched the 10 km women’s event in the 14 to 18 years category. Meanwhile, CDT Ritul and Trupti Gupta were triumphant in the other women’s categories. In the 10 km men’s event, Mohit Yadav, Anurag Konkar, and Narendra Patel proved their mettle and took home the top honors.
The NDA Marathon, with its diverse range of races, garnered an unprecedented response, attracting participants from all corners of India. Notably, the event left participants enthralled with the historical monuments within the NDA campus and the lush greenery that envelopes the vast 7,000-acre campus.
