Nature’s Symphony: NIN Pune’s Vibrant Commemoration of Naturopathy Day

The National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Pune, reverberated with enthusiasm as it commemorated the 6th Naturopathy Day on November 18, 2023. The celebration, a testament to NIN’s unwavering commitment to holistic health practices and natural healing methodologies, drew together a congregation of experts, practitioners, and enthusiasts in the field of Naturopathy.

Embracing Naturopathy’s Holistic Essence

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Yuvaraj Paul, expressing gratitude to the esteemed guests and participants. Following this, Prof. Dr. K. Satya Lakshmi, Director of NIN, delivered a powerful Presidential address. Dr. Lakshmi emphasized the profound significance of Naturopathy in contemporary times due to its holistic approach to health and well-being.

This year’s Naturopathy theme, she explained, aligns with the holistic philosophy, focusing on Preventive Healthcare, Holistic Approach, Empowerment and Self-Care, Natural and Non-Invasive Therapies, and Environmental Sustainability.

Honoring Pioneers in Naturopathy

Dr. Lakshmi announced the recognition of eminent figures in the field of Naturopathy for their outstanding contributions. Dr. S.N. Pandey, Dr. Shankaran Manipuzha, Dr. R.M. Nair, and Dr. Y. Rudrappa were selected for honors and felicitation by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, at Haridwar.

Exploring Naturopathy’s Spiritual Roots

Baharam Shaah Mardaan from Dr. Dinshah K. Mehta Spiritual Centre, Dahanu, Mumbai, shared insights into Dr. Dinshah Mehta’s pivotal role in Naturopathy. Highlighting Mahatma Gandhi’s dedication to Naturopathy, Mardaan delved into how Dr. Dinshah Mehta, Gandhi’s physician, played a crucial role in establishing Naturopathy in India.

Promoting Preventive Healthcare

As part of the celebration, the Institute offered free consultations and Naturopathy treatments to the public, underlining the importance of preventive healthcare. Naturopathy literature was also distributed to raise awareness about the benefits of naturopathic practices.

Cultural Extravaganza and Student Recognition

The festivities continued with a vibrant cultural program by TATC students and Interns. The Institute recognized students of the Foundation course in Yoga Science for Wellness with a Certificate award ceremony.
