Pune : National President of Golf Industry Association (GIA) Anil Seolekar today announced that a national summit has been organized in Delhi on October 5 to promote the game of golf, its industries and to increase the scope and popularity of the game. The Golf Industry Association today announced the venue for its annual GIA Golf and Turf Summit 2023. The summit will be held at the prestigious DLF Golf and Country Club, Delhi on October 5-6.
The conference was inaugurated by Mr. Mike Sebastian, CEO, Asian Golf, Singapore Mr. Greg Patterson, Founder, Tribal Magic Mr. Chris Gray, Head – Sustainable Golf &The Summit will be inaugurated by Mrs. Kavita Singh, President, ASTMA Women’s Golf Association of India (WGAI), Mr. Bruce McPhee, Senior Agronomist, Agronomy, Asia Pacific, R&A. Other keynote speakers include Mr. Brijander Singh, President, IGU and Mr. Akash Ohri, Jt Managing Director, DLF Home Developers Ltd. The conference will be chaired by IGU National President Anil Seolekar.
It is an organization that promotes the game of golf, the industry and its popularity and every aspect related to it. IGU was established in the year 2011. It was founded by Anirudh (Anil) Sevlekar of Oxford Golf Resort, who was the founder president of the association along with Mr. Philip Ryan of PCD Golf Design Hd: Australia. To create GIA The objective was to provide a platform to all golf courses and professional vendors in the industry who would in turn help in the growth of the game of golf in the country. The summit is a time for companies to plan and showcase their new golf game. Prominent global brands have announced their participation in this conference. For the first time, a GIA Greens Section has been created and an educational conference for greenskinners will be held. Greenkeepers will be held alongside the main conference. More than 50 greenkeepers will attend the workshop, hosted by Australian agronomist Bruce McPhee, to enhance their knowledge on various aspects of golf course maintenance. About the Awards The GIA Awards celebrate excellence in the field of golf in India, recognizing the best golf courses based on design, maintenance and overall experience. Additionally, the awards also recognize the outstanding contributions of industry professionals and service providers. This prestigious award has been an annual tradition for many years, highlighting GIA’s commitment to promote and reward excellence in the Indian golf fraternity. The awards are divided into two categories – the voting category and the jury award. Voting began on September 1 and the awards will be announced at a grand ceremony on October 6. However, IGU National President Anil Seolekar has said that a large number of dignitaries from all over the country and the world will participate in this conference.
