Mystery Mischief: Unidentified Culprits Trigger Traffic Jam with Vehicle Tire Punctures

A sudden outbreak of traffic mayhem occurred on Katraj-Kondhwa Road, Pune, lasting for over an hour on Monday, November 20. The disruption was caused by a group of unknown individuals who deliberately punctured the tires of several vehicles, leaving commuters stranded and creating a lengthy traffic snarl.

Vinayak Gaikwad, Police Inspector at Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station, shared insights, stating, “At 7 pm on Monday, 7 to 8 unknown people punctured the tires of several vehicles on Katraj-Kondhwa Road. Their intention is unknown. They punctured the tires and ran away from the spot. This incident happened 1 km ahead of Katraj Chowk. The traffic police took more than 1 hour to clear the traffic.”

Fortunately, no injuries or harm were reported during the incident. The unidentified culprits have been charged under Sections 341, 283, 143, etc., of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and the police are actively working to trace their whereabouts.

The deliberate act led to a significant backlog of vehicles on the road, causing inconvenience to commuters for an extended period.
