MSRTC’s Pune division suffers loss of ₹21 lakh due to agitation

PUNE: Due to the ongoing agitation in Marathwada and Vidarbha, 489 trips of MSRTC were cancelled on the third consecutive day. Hence, on Monday, the Pune division of ST suffered a loss of ₹21,32,492.

Because of the agitation, commuters travelling to Marathwada and Vidarbha are suffering hardship. On Sunday, 700 services of ST were cancelled. MSRTC’s Divisional Transport Officer Sachin Shinde said that buses from Pune station and Swargate were plying as usual.

Regular number of services: 1,346
Cancelled buses: 489
Cancelled km: 52,511
Losses incurred due to cancelled trips: ₹21,32,492
Burnt buses: 80
Damaged buses: 00
