MP Supriya Sule Calls for Transparency: White Paper and Audit of Chandni Chowk Project

Pune, 5th November 2023: Baramati MP Supriya Sule addressed the media today, shedding light on various critical issues concerning her constituency and the state of Maharashtra.

Chandni Chowk Bridge Inspection:

Supriya Sule voiced her concern about the lack of transparency surrounding the Chandni Chowk bridge project. She called upon Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to provide a white paper on the project’s progress. Sule stressed the importance of pedestrian safety and criticized the current oversight of this aspect of infrastructure. She emphasized the need to make the Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency accident-free, emphasizing safety over politics.

Pune Municipal Corporation Challenges:

Sule criticized the Pune Municipal Corporation’s lackadaisical approach to significant issues like water scarcity, waste management, and air pollution. She urged the authorities to promptly address these challenges.

Ajit Pawar’s Mother’s Aspiration:

In response to a question regarding the Chief Minister’s ambitions, Sule remarked, “Of course, what mother wouldn’t think so,” subtly acknowledging the personal nature of the query.

Concerns About Sunil Tatkare:

Expressing concern over the delayed response to Sunil Tatkare’s petition, Sule highlighted what she perceived as a disparity in handling such matters. She drew parallels with the swift disqualification in cases of minor incidents involving her fellow MPs.

Political Sensitivity of NCP:

Sule defended the NCP’s sensitivity by citing examples of their actions, including their support for the women’s reservation bill and a no-confidence motion related to an incident in Manipur.

Ongoing Dispute with Piyush Goyal:

Sule discussed her ongoing dispute with Piyush Goyal, emphasizing the need for sensitivity towards farmers, particularly in light of the looming onion crisis. She criticized the high tax burden on farmers and accused state and central governments of being unfriendly towards women and farmers.

Issues Surrounding Baramati Election Money Distribution:

Sule questioned the Home Minister’s inattention to allegations of money distribution by the Ajit Pawar group. She attributed the BJP’s media engagement to the failure of the Home Minister and expressed sympathy for the party’s original workers.

Ajit Pawar’s Health:

Speaking about Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s illness, Sule stressed the importance of separating politics from health matters. She conveyed her well-wishes to him for a speedy recovery and asserted that political considerations should not overshadow his health needs.

Jarange Fast:

Sule expressed uncertainty about the actions of the triple-engine government in response to Jarange Patal’s fast. She congratulated Jarange Patal and criticized the government for what she deemed as fraudulent handling of the situation, expressing hope for corrective measures.
