Millenium National School and Kunte Chess Academy’s Second Edition of Age Category Open Chess Tournament with 200 Players

In a grand chess spectacle, the Second Edition of the Millenium National School and Kunte Chess Academy presents Age Category Open Chess Tournament is set to captivate chess enthusiasts with 200 players showcasing their skills. This exciting event is organized by Kunte Chess Academy and Millenium National School in collaboration with Kinder Sports LLP and will take place at Millennium National School on Sunday, October 29, 2023.

Tournament Director Mrunalini Kunte has announced that this chess extravaganza will be conducted under the auspices of PDCC, with Millennium National School generously providing their facility to promote chess in Pune. The tournament will follow the Swiss league format and feature four distinct categories: Group A (under 9), Group B (under 11), Group C (under 13), and Group D (under 15).

The event has garnered the participation of notable players in the open group, including Kavish Limaye (rated at 1209, under 9), Vihan Deshmukh (rated at 1226, under 11), Shreyas Patil (rated at 1317, under 13), and Shasvat Gupta (rated at 1444, under 15). The tournament boasts a total cash prize of Rs. 32,000.

Leading the way as the Chief Arbiter for the tournament is Nitin Shenvi, ensuring fair play and a thrilling chess experience for all participants.
