Massive Turnout at Defence Expo 2024: 1.2 Lakh Visitors Thrill at Moshi

In a remarkable display of public interest and enthusiasm, the Defence Expo 2024 at Moshi witnessed a staggering turnout of around 1.2 lakh visitors on Sunday. The event, which commenced on Saturday, February 24, has become a focal point for citizens from diverse backgrounds, including over 40,000 students, who thronged various stalls and pavilions showcasing the latest advancements in defence technology.

Organizers reported that visitors from all walks of life engaged in inquiries about equipment, products, and potential career paths in the Armed Forces. The expansive venue became a hub of activity, with attendees capturing memories in front of armoured vehicles, battle tanks, helicopters, artillery guns, and armed force personnel.

To accommodate the massive influx of visitors, five mammoth pavilions were strategically set up, each dedicated to different aspects of defence technology. The Southern Command took a proactive approach by establishing a special cell to inform visitors about recruitment opportunities in the Armed Forces. The interactive sessions allowed citizens to gain insights into state-of-the-art weapons, technology, and systems developed for the army, creating a unique educational experience.

Ganesh Nibe, President of the Nibe Defence Industry and the knowledge partner, expressed his delight, stating, “Over the weekend, we digitally recorded over 1.2 lakh people, including students and children, which is an overwhelming response.” This positive reception underscores the growing interest and curiosity among the public regarding the nation’s defence capabilities.

Sunday’s events were not limited to exhibitions alone. The expo offered a comprehensive experience with seminars, motivational guidance sessions, visits to halls, and captivating performances by military bands, air force bands, and navy bands.

As the Defence Expo 2024 enters its final day on Monday, top military officials, including General Manoj Pandey, Lt General JB Chaudhary, and Lt Gen CS Mann, are scheduled to visit various halls. At 11:30 am, Lt Gen CS Mann will engage with the audience, providing a unique opportunity for attendees to interact with distinguished military personnel.

This exceptional turnout and engagement reflect the strong connection between the public and the armed forces, fostering a sense of pride and awareness about the nation’s defence capabilities.
