Pune : The vibrant marketplace of Ganesh Peth in Pune is experiencing shifts in the prices of meat and fish, responding to the ebb and flow of demand. In a noteworthy development, the cost of chicken has surged by Rs 20 per kilogram, while the price of eggs has seen a decline by Rs 35 per hundred due to a decrease in demand.
As the market functions at the intersection of supply and demand, Gavran eggs and mutton prices have remained stable, providing a sense of relief for consumers compared to the previous week.
This Sunday, the market welcomed 15 tonnes of deep-sea fish, including 300 kg of bay fish and 800 kg of river fish. Fish trader Thakur Pardeshi, chicken-egg trader Rupesh Pardeshi, and mutton seller Prabhakar Kamble jointly shared that 15 tonnes of Rohu, Catla, and Silan varieties were brought from Andhra Pradesh, ensuring a diverse range for consumers.
