They have formed a special squad composed of undercover police officers who are tasked with apprehending thieves in the act of stealing cash and valuables from unsuspecting commuters. This strategic move aims to make public transport safer and more secure for passengers.
The modus operandi of these thieves has come under scrutiny, revealing a concerning pattern. Often, small children are used to execute thefts, while the mastermind behind the operation keeps a watchful eye on the crime while traveling on the same bus. In these cases, women accompanying the child perpetrators typically disown them or feign ignorance about their involvement in criminal activities. This tactic exploits the reluctance of the police to register FIRs against minors.
To counteract this challenge, the police officials at Loni Kand have devised a comprehensive plan to identify and apprehend the main culprits behind these thefts, thereby curbing the reported incidents of theft occurring on PMPML buses.

In a recent incident, constables from the Loni Kand Police Station successfully apprehended a woman accused of stealing cash from a man’s pocket while on a bus. The quick response and decisive action taken by the police prevented the thief from escaping and ensured that justice was served.
