The highlight of the event is a lively walkathon, transforming a section of Laxmi Road into a vehicle-free zone, offering citizens a unique opportunity to revel in the joy of walking.

Walking the Talk: A Day Dedicated to Pedestrians

Starting at 10 am, the walkathon will commence from Nagarkar Taleem Chowk, leading participants on a scenic journey along Laxmi Road, concluding at Garud Ganapati Chowk. PMC, through its official channels, announced that the adorned stretch of Laxmi Road aims to provide Pune residents with an immersive and enjoyable walking experience, away from the usual hustle and bustle of traffic.

Celebrating Pedestrian Day in Style

As part of the Pedestrian Day festivities, PMC has planned a series of programs and activities to engage participants and make the day memorable. The event underscores PMC’s broader commitment to encouraging eco-friendly transportation alternatives and promoting the importance of walking as a healthy and sustainable mode of commuting.

Beyond the Walk: A Road Transformed

With vibrant decorations lining the route between Nagarkar Taleem Chowk and Garud Ganpati Chowk, the initiative seeks to offer a distinctive atmosphere for pedestrians to explore and enjoy.
