Last Chance: Pune Municipal Corporation’s Property Tax Discount Expires in Two Days!

Time is ticking for property owners in Pune as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is offering a limited-time discount on property tax payments. With just three days left until May 31st, PMC is encouraging residents to seize the opportunity to save on their tax bills for the 2024-25 financial year.

PMC’s Deputy Municipal Commissioner of the Taxation and Tax Collection Department, Madhav Jagtap, has emphasized the importance of settling property tax dues before the deadline to avail of the discount. Property tax slips have already been dispatched to all 14.22 lakh property holders under PMC’s jurisdiction via the Indian Department of Post. For those who haven’t received their slips, Jagtap suggests checking the official PMC website promptly.

In an impressive feat, PMC has managed to collect Rs 836.08 crores in property tax within just two months since the start of the fiscal year. A significant portion of this revenue, amounting to Rs 226.58 crores, has been received via cheque payments, while Rs 84.94 crores have been paid in cash. The majority, accounting for Rs 521.54 crores, has been paid through online and digital payment channels, reflecting a growing trend towards digital transactions.

PMC has taken proactive measures to facilitate early tax payments and encourage residents to take advantage of the discount offer. Citizens Facilitation Centres (CFCs) will remain open with extended hours from 9 AM to 9 PM, including weekends. The Taxation and Tax Collection Department is urging citizens to opt for online payment methods to minimize crowding at CFCs and streamline the payment process.

For any inquiries or assistance regarding property tax payments, residents can reach out to the toll-free number 1800 1030 222 or visit the official PMC website at https://propertytax.punecorporation.org. Various online payment modes are available, including credit cards, debit cards, Bharat QR codes, and popular UPI platforms like Google Pay and PhonePe, along with NEFT and RTGS options.
