Land Fraud Exposed: Pune’s Forest Department Faces Forged Document Scandal

Talegaon Dabhade – In a shocking revelation, the fraudulent sale of 81.84 acres of Forest Department land has come to light, exposing a criminal act executed with forged documents. The deceitful transaction unfolded at the secondary registrar Maval 2, Talegaon Dabhade, between December 16, 2020, and January 21, 2021.

Accused Individuals Unmasked:

The key figures implicated in this illicit land deal are identified as Rafiq Dawood Ruwala (73), Ali Ajgar (20), and an unnamed woman, all residents of Nerul Road, Thane. Forester Sanjay Ahirrao from Ambavane took swift action, filing a comprehensive complaint at the Talegaon Dabhade Police Station on November 21, 2023.

Forged Documents and Deceptive Tactics:

According to the police report, specific areas within the jurisdiction of the Tamhini Forest Division fall under the Maharashtra Private Forests (Acquisition) Act of 1975. Any sale of this land necessitates the explicit authorization of the forest range officer. In this case, the accused went to great lengths by fabricating a letter in the name of the forest range officer, falsely asserting that 81.84 acres of land were eligible for sale.

Exploiting this fraudulent letter, the Sub-Registrar facilitated the unlawful transfer of the forest department area through three separate deeds at Maval 2, Talegaon Dabhade. This shocking revelation has prompted the immediate registration of a case, with the Talegaon Dabhade police launching a thorough investigation into the matter.
