Kund Mala: Pune’s Hidden Oasis Beckons Nature Enthusiasts

Pune – Nestled 30 kilometers away from Pune, Kund Mala has recently become a popular destination for those seeking a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. This hidden gem has captured the attention of Punekars, offering a tranquil retreat for couples, families, and cycling enthusiasts alike.

Kund Mala has earned a reputation as a favored spot for cyclists, attracting morning enthusiasts looking for a refreshing start to their day. As visitors explore the area, they are greeted with a pleasant surprise—a gathering of people seeking solace in the midst of nature.

Situated along the Indrayani River, Kund Mala transforms into a small picnic spot, featuring a modest dam that enhances the picturesque surroundings. During the monsoons, the overflow from the dam creates a breathtaking sight, adding to the allure of the landscape. On the opposite side of the dam, the river flows between rocks, forming natural potholes reminiscent of Nighoje.

Stretching for about 300 to 400 meters, the scenic view showcases the water gracefully carving through the rocks. One side of the dam reaches a depth of 20 feet, while a shallower, paved section measuring 5 feet deep invites visitors for a refreshing swim.

Adding to the charm, the Kundrai Mata temple proudly stands in the middle of the river, serving as the Kuldevi for locals and neighboring villagers. This religious site encourages visitors to offer flowers to Kund Mala’s Kuldevi as a gesture of reverence.

The Maharashtra Tourism page, known for showcasing the state’s scenic beauty, has shared a video capturing the enchanting landscapes of Kund Mala, inviting more people to explore this hidden oasis.
